Roger McClendon is an accomplished American environmentalist and former professional basketball player. Born in the United States, McClendon has made significant contributions to both the sporting and environmental sectors. With a successful career in basketball that spanned over a decade, he has also dedicated himself to championing sustainability and eco-conscious practices through his work in various organizations.
McClendon first gained prominence through his basketball career, which saw him play at the collegiate level for the University of Cincinnati. His skills on the court caught the attention of NBA scouts, leading to a successful stint with the Indiana Pacers from 1986 to 1991. Known for his tenacity and leadership on the court, McClendon was a valuable asset to the Pacers and became a fan favorite during his time with the team.
After retiring from professional basketball, McClendon shifted his focus towards promoting sustainability and environmental advocacy. In 2016, he joined the Yum! Brands organization as the company’s Chief Sustainability Officer.
