When a partner dies and they go to the next realm in our culture they will forever have a place in our hearts we will mourn them we will make sure they're fire is lit and we will keep a part of them because we will see them again there is no doubt about it unless they died of an illness then the chances are very slim we will ever see them again but if they died a hero which is what my faith believes in then we will see them again and Norseman basically if they lost their life partner they wouldn't take it very well because this person is supposed to be what the gods chose for you to be with until the day you leave the earth and look go to Valhalla so losing that person is going to be crushing for us so yes we would always keep them in our hearts they would always be one part of us that would love but if you are a higher member in the tribe you would need to hand fasten again but there is stories of Norseman that never did remarry because their love for their partner was so very strong that they couldn't bring themselves to find someone else because they knew they were see their beloved in the afterlife and then they could be together until Ragnarok comes so yes in my opinion I would still love my partner even if she died before me
