My first anime was Naruto, this anime made me anime fan. I liked Death not very much. However I'm not sure that it's suitable for first time.

It is a good one yes sure, but it might be a bit much to start with being how complex the plot twists can get .. 
I'd suggest something based off their preferences basically ..
Story / fights / scenery / art / etc ..

It really just depends on the person. You'd have to narrow down what they normally like – whether it's horror, thriller, drama, romance, comedy, action, etc. It's also probably different for children versus adults. I think my first Japanese anime as a child was G-Force (Gatchaman) or Sailor Moon... But I liked superheroes already
