Mike Smith is a Canadian actor, writer, and comedian who is best known for his role as Bubbles in the hit Canadian television series Trailer Park Boys. Born on August 27, 1972, in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada, Smith grew up in the small town of Thorburn with his parents and brother, enjoying outdoor activities such as fishing and canoeing. He attended St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, where he studied English and Theatre. After graduating from university, Smith moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, and began performing with a local theatre group called the Neptune Theatre. In 1999, he co-created the mockumentary-style television series Trailer Park Boys with fellow actors Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay. The show followed the lives of three friends living in a trailer park in Nova Scotia and their various scams and misadventures. Smith played the character of Bubbles on Trailer Park Boys, a lovable and quirky character known for his love of cats and glasses without lenses. The show became a cult hit in Canada and gained a dedicated following in the United States as well, airing for 12 seasons and spawning numerous spin-off films and specials. In addition to his work on Trailer Park Boys, Smith has also appeared in other Canadian television series such as Made in Canada and The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour.
