" The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power " ?
Please let's talk about this... Does anyone here watch or watched this series before? I gave it a chance when it came out and I still watch it just because I was waiting for it to be good. I didn't read the books but I appreciate the movies so much since I was a kid, the vibe was amazing... But the season 2 ep 7 of this series did hurt my eyes and soul... Like wtf... I think I will finally drop it because it's really not LOTR... Tell me your opinion, let's talk about that! ❤️🩹

What exactly hurt your eyes? I find the deviations from the original lore to be pretty obnoxious, it’s like they didn’t understand Tolkien’s work at all.

It's an odd series. The story is more like fan fiction. It certainly isn't true to the established Tolkien lore. Some of it looks terrible, but the battle that spanned multiple episodes in S2 looked pretty great. In a way I can understand why they mangled the details of the first and second age so much. Tolkien never gave them the grand narrative treatment that the tiny slice of the third age received for Lord of the Rings. So the writers had to invent a lot of details. It's similar to how the last two seasons of Game of Thrones went off the rails when the story passed the books.
