Baby facing you, seated on your non-dominant arm, feet between your body and your arm. Dominant arm on the back, forearm vertical with your hand at the lower back of the head. Lean backwards so their weight is on your torso.

If they lay their head on you, you can let go of their head and move it to their back.

Lightly bouncing and either lightly stroking the head or back can help keep them calm. Cooing, talking, humming or any way of using sound to get your chest to vibrate with resonant frequencies is also calming.

If they are fussy, they might need to poop, burp, or up chuck. Lean their head on your chest and pat them lightly on the back. Messes are often unavoidable.
