I am blessed enough to have a outdoor archery range that is in the mountains reasonably far away! This is my outdoor bow a Hoyt helix that has treated me very well! I also love the Excel Landslide site it has also treated me very well for the most part! I have a tournament coming up in 2 weeks and I was able to get this set out to shoot 80 yards while still maintaining a pretty good grouping! Wish me luck in the following tournament!

It was only 20meters away and I cherry picked my best shot but I feel really proud. It took so long to get here from swapping from a recurve bow from shooting off the shelf on the left side to shooting off the hand with the arrow on the right side with thumb draw. There were so many small things I had to keep experimenting with to get more consistent. 

I don’t really have anyone to share it with but I really want to so here you guys go.

My new indoor bow!

I'm just now getting back into Archery. When I first got into it I really didn't know much and I still don't. But I do know that I prefer recurve over compound for right now just due to how much compound bows cost. I'm curious what everyone else likes. And for you compound bow people. What are some good starter but budget friendly bows because eventually I would love to get a compound.

Now im a life long archer but certain things about the archery world just drive me nuts now its been a while since ive been this immersed in the archery world but im trying to get back into it but the whole 3D archery thing wich I love the whole unknown yardage thing about the competition I get it to make the competition more difficult but its not like pope and young counts it against you if you take a range finder bow hunting so they are just like I said trying to make the competition more difficult then I dont know if this still applies but for years if you hunted with a bow with 80% let off pope and young would disqualify you from entering animals wich makes no sense did they imagine we would climb up in our tree stands nock an arrow and draw our bows back and hold it waiting on what ever we were hunting to walk into view I mean I dont get the logic in that rule at all does any one else think we need some higher  intelligence on the rules boards of the archery world we all love ❤️

We all in the archery world know that draw length means more than poundage when it comes to a bows performance well I think I figured a way to help all you short armed folks remember over draws the arrow rest was moved closer to the string behind the riser what if we made bows with the handle that extended back behind the riser only the handle the riser and limb pockets would stay where they are at and the handle would extend back towards the strong even 1 or 2 inches would make a big difference if they angled the limbs to make greater brace height the further the handle could extend behind the riser some one with a 26 inch draw could have a 30 inch draw or some one like me with a 30 inch draw could have a 34 inch draw but once you get a bow up over 300 feet per second it levels the field a bit more I might this technology to go to a 32 inch draw but I would probably still shoot 30 inch arrows and I would not have as much of an advantage over all the rest of you if you had a 30 inch draw length versus me having a 30 and you guys having a 26 or 27 or 28 most women have between a 24 and 26 inch draw so they could all get to 30 and i think it would help them alot so what do you think any bow engineers out there want to try to develope this thing

I had an idea for a new compound bow

I cant wait to show up at my first 3D competition with my new bow its so tiny im sure I will get a few laughs until I shoot a few arrows i dont know for sure what the Chinese have done or if American archery companies are doing the same I hunt with a crossbow because their is no advantage to hunting with a regular compound an animal killed with a crossbow is scored the exact same as if its killed with a long how or recurve or compound bow so why would I not hunt with the crossbow I compete with a compound bow in 3D I was mens pro open class I will turn 50 in December so I can shoot senior mens pro or how ever its worded the bow I have now for next year is less than 24 inches axle to axle it has a shoot through riser built in over draw because the handle is almost 3 inches behind the bow wich turns  my 29 inch draw into a 32 inch draw the ACE arrows I have at 310.5 grains with my bow set to 62 pounds I am getting speeds of 415 to 417 feet per second thats as fast or faster than the crossbow I mentioned I dont know if its the short axle to axle that creates such a steep and powerful power stroke the cams are not ridiculously hard it shoots very smooth not like other bows ive pushed beyond being accurate to achieve speed those became critical and I would have to back down from the edge or make hunting bows out of them I always used a bow with a 37 inch axle to axle measurement that seemed to be the sweet spot for me I could go a little longer a 40 to 42 inch axle to axle bow and they were smooth and stable but not burning fast the Chinese have also used a double string system the cams have 2 groves for 2 strings to wrap around equally and a dead stop module system that means a stable shooting wall that helps tremendously with shooting super tight groups I am not sure wich of these systems or if it is just the combination of them all that makes this hands down the best bow ive shot to this point in my life I have been a PSE man since 1999 I tried the solo cams and I have always embraced a shoot through riser but this bow is in a league of its own we think Americans have the inside track in archery but the Chinese and Mongolians lead and conquered the world with the first composite bows utilizing a release so dont turn your nose up at 10,000 years of perfecting archery equipment by that part of the world I have always believed its the shooter not the bow but its hard to argue with shooter friendly equipment that brings the best shooter out of you to be worthy of the bow you hold thats a perfect marriage I think

I will definitely take it! I have been putting a lot of effort into tuning my gear properly and shooting out to 60 yards has been improving immensely!

So at my job we were running a Christmas potluck! During the potluck we have a machine that levitates ping pong balls in the air and different archers can try and shoot them! I run some really wide arrows and because of that it's really hard to pin a ping pong ball to the bail! However when I shot this one my bottom Arrow was already there, and then my top Arrow made the ping pong ball Glide across the arrow and I finally pinned that sucker!
