How can I be enough
to deserve the things others have?
I see their lives—whole, shining,
while mine feels like fragments,
scattered by winds I cannot tame.

I am not perfect,
but I know the love I give is real.
I am a good daughter,
soft-spoken, steady,
shouldering the weight without complaint.

I am not as smart as my co-workers,
but my hands do not falter.
Every task I touch
bears the mark of my care,
the quiet proof of my worth.

Still, I wonder,
when will it be my turn?
To reach out
and grasp the life I dream of,
without it slipping through my fingers?

I’ve had enough of this ache—
this waiting, this asking.
If not now, then when?
