Epstein's most notable film editing work came in collaboration with her sister, Jean Epstein, who was a prolific director during the 1920s. Their partnership produced several significant films of the era, including "La Glace a Trois Faces" (The Three-Sided Mirror) and "La Chute de la Maison Usher" (The Fall of the House of Usher). The two sisters were considered pioneers of the French Impressionist movement in film, which emphasized visual style, subjective camera work, and an emotional response to the narrative. After World War II, Epstein continued to work in the French film industry, including as a writer and director of documentary films. She passed away in 1965 at the age of 75. Although Epstein is often overshadowed by her sister's success as a director, she is remembered as an influential editor who helped shape the visual language of French cinema during a crucial moment in its history. Her legacy continues to inspire editors and filmmakers today.
