Acie Law IV, also known as simply Acie Law, is an American former professional basketball player. Born on January 25, 1985, in Dallas, Texas, Law is best known for his successful college career at Texas A&M University, where he earned numerous accolades and helped turn the Aggies into a respected basketball program. Law attended Kimball High School in Dallas, where he showcased his basketball skills and led his team to the Texas 4A state championship in 2002. Following his high school success, he was heavily recruited by several top college basketball programs across the nation. Ultimately, Law chose Texas A&M, where he played four memorable seasons from 2003 to 2007. During his time at Texas A&M, Law quickly established himself as an exceptional point guard and team leader. He played a pivotal role in the team's rise to prominence, helping the Aggies make their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 25 years in 2006. Law's senior season in 2006-2007 was particularly remarkable, as he led Texas A&M to the Sweet Sixteen and earned several individual honors, including Big 12 Player of the Year. Law's stellar performance in college led to him being selected as the 11th overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2007 NBA Draft. However, Law's professional career didn't quite live up to the expectations set during his college years. Despite playing for multiple NBA teams such as the Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies, and Chicago Bulls, Law struggled to find consistent playing time and made limited impact on the court. Following his NBA career, Law played basketball professionally in countries such as Russia, Turkey, Lithuania, and Israel. Although his time in the NBA wasn't as successful as anticipated, Law's college career and leadership qualities have left a lasting impact on Texas A&M and basketball fans who witnessed his tremendous skills on the college stage.
