Apart from theatre, Burgess was also a recording artist, releasing several albums of songs, including works by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Leonard Cohen. He also created a one-man show, A Clockwork Orange County, which he performed at various venues across Canada and the United States. Burgess later suffered from vocal problems and retired from performing in 2009. He passed away on September 28th, 2015, at the age of 70, due to cancer.
