Ole Thestrup was an acclaimed Danish actor known for his powerful and memorable performances on screen and stage. Born in Nibe, Denmark on March 12, 1948, Thestrup grew up in a family of farmers and initially pursued a career in farming. However, he eventually found his true calling in the performing arts and began studying acting at the Aarhus Theatre School in the 1970s.
Thestrup made his professional acting debut at the Aarhus Theatre in 1976 and quickly established himself as a versatile and talented actor. He went on to perform in numerous productions at the Aarhus Theatre as well as other theatres throughout Denmark. In the 1980s, Thestrup began to transition to film and television, appearing in a number of popular Danish movies and TV shows.
Throughout his career, Thestrup was widely regarded as one of the greatest actors of his generation in Denmark. He was particularly known for his ability to convey a sense of authenticity and emotional depth in his performances, which made him a favorite of audiences and critics alike. Over the course of his career, Thestrup received many awards and honors for his work, including the prestigious Reumert Award for Best Actor in 1998.
Sadly, Thestrup passed away on February 2, 2018, at the age of 69. His death was mourned throughout Denmark and the acting community, with many people remembering him as a gifted and deeply respected actor who left an indelible mark on the performing arts in Denmark.
