Juliet Berto was a French actress, director, and screenwriter, known for her contributions to the French New Wave cinema movement. She was born on January 16, 1947, in Grenoble, France. She made her acting debut in 1965 in the film "Pierrot le Fou," directed by Jean-Luc Godard, which became a defining moment in her career.

She collaborated with prominent directors such as Jacques Rivette, Bertrand Tavernier, and Claire Denis, among others. Berto was particularly known for her striking performances in films such as "Out 1," "Neige," and "Celine and Julie Go Boating."
Berto also had a passion for filmmaking, and she wrote and directed several films throughout her career, including "Cap Canaille" and "Les Keufs."
