He was born on October 30, 1874, in Glatz, Germany, and grew up with an immense passion for acting. Over the course of his career, he worked in various theater groups and even established his own theater company in Berlin. In 1915, Friedrich Kayssler's acting talent was recognized by the German film industry, and he landed his first role in the movie "The Cigarette Maker from Seville." Thereafter, he appeared in over 100 films, both as the lead and supporting actor, and became known for his versatile acting style in various genres, including dramas, comedies, and romances. Despite his successful career, Friedrich Kayssler's personal life was not without challenges. He was married four times, with three of his marriages ending in divorce. Additionally, Kayssler, who was of Jewish descent, faced persecution from the Nazi Party in Germany after they rose to power in 1933. Notably, he was prohibited from acting for a period before being allowed to continue working in the 1940s. Friedrich Kayssler's acting career spanned over four decades, and he is regarded as one of the most influential actors in German cinema history. Throughout his career, he remained dedicated to his craft, and his contribution to the rise of theater and film in Germany is still felt today. He passed away on October 29, 1945, in Berlin, a day before his 71st birthday.
