Trae Young is an American professional basketball player who currently plays as a point guard for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on September 19, 1998, in Lubbock, Texas, he attended Norman North High School in Norman, Oklahoma, where he started his basketball career. Young became one of the most prominent high school basketball players in the country in just two seasons, averaging 42.6 points and 5.8 assists per game in his senior year. He was awarded the Naismith Prep Player of the Year accolade in 2017.
After high school, Young committed to playing with the Oklahoma Sooners men's basketball team of the University of Oklahoma. During his freshman year, Young led the 2017-18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in both points and assists per game, becoming the first player in NCAA history to lead both categories in a single season. He averaged 27.4 points and 8.7 assists, breaking numerous records and receiving several honors, including the Consensus First-Team All-American accolade and the Wayman Tisdale Award.
After an impressive freshman season, Young decided to declare for the 2018 NBA draft. He was selected fifth overall by the Dallas Mavericks but was quickly traded to the Atlanta Hawks for Luka Dončić. In his rookie season, Young continued to shine as he led all rookies in points, assists, and made field goals, earning a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team. In his second season, Young led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in six years, where they eventually lost to the Milwaukee Bucks. Young is considered one of the most promising young players in the league and is expected to have a bright future in the NBA.

However, their fifth wing may drive them to make a grand gesture to stand out among the crowd, or else they may feel unappreciated at all.
