Stig Olin was a Swedish actor, composer, and director born on April 28, 1920, in Gothenburg, Sweden. He started his career in the entertainment industry in 1942 when he made his debut as an actor in the Swedish film "Landstormens Lilla Lotta." Throughout his career, he starred in over 60 films, including "The Seventh Seal" (1957) by Ingmar Bergman and "The Virgin Spring" (1960) by the same director. He also wrote the screenplay for the film "The Princess" (1944), which starred the famous Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman. Besides acting, Stig Olin was also a composer and songwriter. He composed music for several films, including "One Summer of Happiness" (1951) and "Katrin och dansen" (1955), and wrote songs for Swedish artists such as Alice Babs and Siw Malmkvist. He received two awards for his contribution to the Swedish music industry: the Golden Record Award in 1964 and the Karamelodiktstipendiet in 1982. In addition to his work in film and music, Stig Olin was also a director, having directed several films such as "The Girl from Backafall" (1953) and "Life and Death" (1946). In 1955, he founded a production company called Stig Olin Productions, which produced several popular films of the time, including "Åsa-Nisse i rekordform" (1959) and "Fröken April" (1958). Stig Olin passed away on October 28, 2008, in Stockholm, leaving behind a legacy as a versatile and talented actor, musician, and filmmaker who contributed greatly to Swedish culture and entertainment.
