Mark Personality Type

Which Enneagram Type is Mark?

Mark from "Protej" (1995) can be categorized as a 5w4 on the Enneagram. This type is characterized by a deep desire for knowledge and understanding, often manifesting as a highly intellectual and withdrawn personality.

As a 5, Mark exhibits a strong analytical mindset, delving into the complexities of the situations he finds himself in, often prioritizing intellectual exploration over emotional engagement. His investigative nature leads him to seek out information and insights, particularly in the ominous and strange environment that surrounds him, reflecting the classic traits of a type 5.

The influence of the 4 wing adds an emotional depth and introspection to his character. This suggests that Mark not only seeks knowledge but also grapples with feelings of alienation and uniqueness. This can lead him to explore existential themes, as seen in his interactions and reactions to the surreal events in the film. The combination of the need for privacy and introspection (typical of 5s) with a yearning for identity and self-expression (characteristic of 4s) contributes to his complex persona.

In conclusion, Mark exemplifies the 5w4 type through his intellectual curiosity, emotional complexity, and tendency to isolate himself while confronting unsettling truths, highlighting the tension between his thirst for understanding and his inherent sense of alienation.
