After the war, Jules Irving pursued his acting career, appearing in several Broadway productions, including The Threepenny Opera, The Physicists, and A Thousand Clowns. He continued to act on stage for many years, but it was his directing and producing skills that set him apart in the theater industry. In 1963, Irving founded the Repertory Theater of Lincoln Center and served as its artistic director for eight years. Under his leadership, the theater won four Tony Awards and became one of the most successful theaters in the country.
