"I believe that Jesus Christ, God's Son, died on the cross to save us from our sins, and I know that He rose again on the third day. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for our justification and sanctification, and I believe in the power of His Blood!"
Paul Crouch
Paul Crouch Bio
Paul Crouch, born on March 30, 1934, was an American televangelist and the co-founder of the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). Hailing from the United States, Crouch became a prominent figure in the world of Christian broadcasting and played a pivotal role in shaping the modern landscape of religious television. Through TBN, he established a vast empire that became one of the largest Christian broadcasting networks in the world, reaching millions of viewers across the globe. However, Crouch's legacy is not without controversy, as his extravagant lifestyle and alleged financial mismanagement created a fair share of criticism during his career.
Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, Crouch discovered his passion for broadcasting during his time at Central Bible Institute and Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. In pursuit of his vision to spread the Gospel through the use of mass media, he, alongside his wife Jan and several other investors, founded TBN in 1973. From its humble beginnings as a small community station, TBN eventually grew into a global network, broadcasting Christian programming in multiple languages around the clock.
However, Crouch's lavish lifestyle and his alleged financial improprieties often drew scrutiny. Critics accused him of mismanaging TBN's funds, spending excessive amounts on personal expenses, and using the network's resources for personal gain. Additionally, allegations of extravagant living, opulent mansions, and luxury vehicles further tarnished his reputation. These controversies raised questions about the transparency and integrity of Crouch's ministry, reinforcing negative perceptions about the televangelism industry as a whole.
Despite the controversies surrounding him, Crouch made significant contributions to the Christian broadcasting world and has left a lasting impact. Under his leadership, TBN expanded its programming to include a wide range of shows, featuring renowned televangelists, music concerts, faith-centered movies, and even children's programming. Through these initiatives, Paul Crouch helped to create a platform that allowed religious leaders to reach a vast audience and share their message of faith and hope.
In December 2013, Paul Crouch passed away at the age of 79 due to complications from congestive heart failure. While his career and personal life were not without their share of controversies, Crouch's influence on the world of Christian broadcasting cannot be denied. His pioneering efforts with the Trinity Broadcasting Network paved the way for countless other ministries and left an indelible mark on the history of religious television.
