Reade's coaching career at Geneseo High School spanned over two decades, from 1975 to 2000, during which he built an extraordinary legacy. Known for his methodical approach and emphasis on discipline and fundamentals, Reade transformed Geneseo's football program into a powerhouse. Under his guidance, the team achieved unparalleled success, winning six state championships, reaching the playoffs in every season except one, and amassing an overall record of 255-25-1.
