Blanchard went on to play college football at the University of Oklahoma, where he excelled as a placekicker for the Sooners. In 1992, Cary Blanchard's football career took a significant step forward when he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New Orleans Saints. After his time with the New York Jets, Blanchard played for various NFL teams, showcasing his skills with the Indianapolis Colts, Washington Redskins, Arizona Cardinals, and the New York Giants.
