Born on September 23, 1986, in Fargo, North Dakota, Schommer grew up with a passion for sports, particularly football. He attended Fargo South High School, where he excelled as a multi-sport athlete, earning multiple accolades and gaining the attention of college recruiters. Schommer's talent and dedication led him to receive a football scholarship at North Dakota State University. During his time at NDSU, Schommer played as a safety for the Bison football team and became a standout player. With his exceptional performances on the field, he received numerous accolades, including the FCS All-American honors and Missouri Valley Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year award.
