Corey Williams
Corey Williams Bio
Corey Williams, commonly known as Corey "C-Murder" Miller, is an American rapper and actor hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana. Born on March 9, 1971, Corey rose to prominence as a member of the iconic hip-hop label No Limit Records. He is the younger brother of Master P, the founder of No Limit Records, and became a prominent figure within the label's roster during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Growing up in a musical family, Corey Williams was exposed to the world of hip-hop at an early age. Inspired by the success of his older brother Percy "Master P" Miller, Corey began honing his rap skills and eventually joined No Limit Records in 1990. Under the moniker C-Murder, Corey released several highly successful albums, including "Life or Death" in 1998 and "Trapped in Crime" in 2000. His distinctive deep voice and lyrical content focused on his experiences in the streets of New Orleans resonated with fans nationwide. However, Corey Williams' career took an unexpected turn when he was convicted of second-degree murder in 2009 and sentenced to life imprisonment. The conviction was in connection with a 2002 nightclub shooting in which a 16-year-old fan was tragically killed. Despite maintaining his innocence and numerous appeals, Corey has remained incarcerated for over a decade. Despite being imprisoned, Corey continues to be a prominent figure within the music industry. He has released music while in prison, primarily through mixtapes and collaborations with other artists. Corey also remains an influential symbol within the hip-hop community, with many rallying to his defense, believing he was wrongfully convicted. Overall, Corey Williams, also known as C-Murder, made a significant impact on the hip-hop scene through his contributions to No Limit Records. Though his life took a tragic turn, enduring a life sentence for a crime he maintains he did not commit, his legacy as a talented rapper and pivotal figure in New Orleans rap remains intact.
