Standing at 6 feet 7 inches (2.01 meters) tall, he primarily played as a shooting guard/small forward throughout his career. Piatkowski had a successful college basketball career before transitioning to the NBA, where he spent most of his playing years with the Los Angeles Clippers. Piatkowski attended the University of Nebraska, where he left an indelible mark on the basketball program. He played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1990 to 1994 and quickly became one of the most prolific scorers in the school's history. With his impressive shooting abilities, Piatkowski etched his name in the record books, ending his college career as the all-time leading scorer for the Cornhuskers with 1,934 points. Following his standout college career, Piatkowski declared for the 1994 NBA Draft and was selected by the Indiana Pacers as the 15th overall pick. However, he would soon be involved in a trade that sent him to the Los Angeles Clippers. Piatkowski would go on to spend the majority of his 14-year NBA career with the Clippers, becoming one of the longest-tenured players in the team's history.
