What’s your own true scary story?

Could be paranormal or real. I’ll start: My grandfather passed away in October of 22. It was a long process of cleaning his estate and belongings up, a burden that largely fell on my father. He would routinely make trips out of state (to where my grandfather lived) to determine fates of various items from my grandfather’s small but meaningful collection of possessions. For the better part of two months, this was his life. He had help from his sister, my aunt, who would also make trips with him. For context, my grandfather was a very particular man, he was not tech savvy in the slightest. He once took his cell phone to the verizon store and had them manually disable text messaging on his flip phone. Said flip phone replaced his landline, and he used it all the way up to his passing. One night, around the end of this two month process, my dad received multiple phone calls from my grandfather’s landline number. He missed both of them, they came in at around 3 am. Knowing that this landline number hadn’t been used by his father for years, he decided to call the number back in the morning. The call didn’t go through, as the robotic voice said that the number had been discontinued. To this day, we still have no earthly idea how any of this happened. Our best theory is it was him reaching out one last time, to say goodbye to his son. 🖤
