I personally preferred the plot of FMA the original - much more unique, especially with the movie. The quality of art and music is great for both shows, though.

FMA does the first half of the story better, and if you're watching dubbed, the dub is infinitely better. Especially a scene on a certain rainy day.

FMA:B actually follows the manga closer, and the second half of the story works much better that way. The dub is not as good, IMO, but it's not bad.

Overall? They're pretty even, but if you want emotional impact, watch FMA dubbed. There's so many moments that just absolutely broke my heart the first time I watched it.

Both are good for different reasons. If you're down to watch both start with the OG. If you only want one then go for Brotherhood

I'm not actually positive which I watched but the one I did has an episode that rips your heart out that I think isn't in the other one if I remember correctly... Even with that it's a good watch
