I'm confused

So earlier today my friend got mad at me for throwing a stuffed animal at them and not because I threw it at them but because I should treat it as a real animal and what happened was they made a unnecessary but funny (tbh it was funny) joke about me being single so in a joking manner I threw it at them and made a joke back and they got made that it was a stuffed animal that I threw at them and they told me that it's an animal no matter what and I should have used a pillow but to me it's a stuffed animal like I'm not ever going to feed it or buy anything and if theirs a fire I'm not going to risk my life to save it any other pet yes I'll risk my life for it and feed it but not a stuffed animal and that confused me
