It just wasn't... "The Arab historian al-Maqrīzī, writing in the early 15th century, attributes the loss of the nose to Muhammad Sa'im al-Dahr, a Sufi Muslim from the khanqah of Sa'id al-Su'ada in 1378, who found local peasants making offerings to the Sphinx in the hope of increasing their harvest and therefore defaced the Sphinx." You can find photos from the 1920's where the Sphinx has no nose.(수정됨)

I'd like to believe it, but : During World War II, Egypt adhered to the principle of neutrality, but the Allies used it as military bases and fought on its territory with the armed Axis countries. (Axis countries (German: Achsenmächte; Japanese: 枢軸国 su: jiku-koku; Italian: potenze dell'Asse; from the term "Axis: Berlin - Rome", and later "Axis: Berlin - Rome - Tokyo"), known as the Nazi bloc, the Hitler coalition, an aggressive military and economic alliance of Germany, Italy, Japan and other states, which was opposed by the anti-Hitler coalition during World War II) so that Egypt did not participate in the war.and the sphinx's nose fell off for another reason I’m a history buff and I also know a lot of different facts…. and I’m also not going to argue with anyone about this…. but a fact is a fact... Egypt did not participate in the war and did not fight... and the Sphinx suffered from other events....
