Presence has to be > my Solitude.

Anytime I start to express interest in someone, and invest time in that person. I start to realize my window of "freedom" of being single slowly starts to close(which is a good thing). Then, something horrible happens, possibly a defense-mechanism; I start to question myself if this is what I want going foward. NOT the idea of getting to know someone & pursuing a committed relationship with that individual. But realizing after years of being single(by choice) I fell in love with my time & trusting no one but me, Im in my mid 30s, I have become extremely self sufficient with nearly anything that gets thrown at me, and Im proud of that. I can honestly say I jave everything I worked for(left one state to live in another, can say i bought my house & vehicles new, and everything around me) But at the same time, where Im at RIGHT now in my life, and what I had to do to get here, I realize im selfish & put myself in a mindset where I have to much to lose for anyone to pull the rug out from under me, especially now-a-days, alot of desperate people out there are merly looking for security. I want to meet someone, but my standards are at a point where, they seem "high" but society has its share of people who have no morals & values anymore. Self respect & honor are a thing of the past. Or im just getting old. 🤷🏻‍♂️ (bewerkt)
