Anime is another zeitgeist of popular culture, reflecting the consumerisitic nature of parts of society. There's plenty of it to consume and the floodgates are open to the western world. Not surprising that anime is a common interest now.

Thanks to Netflix and Crunchyroll anime is now global content. Not like watching a season in one night but lots of casual watchers out there I think. 🫠

I enjoy anime. Used to watch it on VRV but then they shut down. Funimation got shut down too. Both were absorbed by crunchyroll. Crunchroll used to be good but they've massively added ads and locked a lot of previously free anime behind their premium. Almost everything is premium now and they even locked dubbed behind a pay wall. I'm watching anime on 9anime though and they seem to be pretty good. Everything is free, no ads as far as I've seen (might be my browser) and they have a large catalogue.

I would watch anime frequently, but ever since I  got hooked on JRPGs, their anime-esque art style has been filling in for any desires to actually watch any anime..  😅
