Mabie focuses much on the affairs of, once again; as I am sure he will do further on- God, Nature, and Man. He exquisitely explains towards the end why other ideas are “subordinate” to the “idea of God” in this case or the title of this chapter “Hebrew Poetry” deriving from the Hebrew Bible. Mabie, of course, says it best, but I was going to make the attempt to do my best to elaborate in my own words what you could call “the insubordination of Man” as I believe this is what Mabie might be ultimately trying to conceive through his words.
