Like the title says, I am looking for perhaps curious historians or germans that could help me translate the cursive writing of the postcard into English, if anyone is interested in the history of it or what it says. I am quite eager to solve this mystery, I got some clues so far, but not the full picture, AI is incomplete.

I need help translating an antique german postcard from 1943 that I believe is written in Sütterlin

I went to an antiques store earlier today. They had some very interesting pens from China with some very nice artwork. I ended up picking this one. This one just uses ballpoint refill cartridges but they did have some fountain pens. Sadly the ink pump on them wasn't working. Still, I think this one is quite nice.

There is an awful lot of beauty in the "budget" tin toys of the 1950s. Using simple pressed tin and beautiful decorative prints, a relatively shapeless lump became a highly evocative little machine that doubtless thrilled plenty of railcentric kids in their day.

Wells-Brimtoy were one of the big hitters back then. Coming from London - Brimtoy from Hackney and Wells from Walthamstow - this legendary British toy company specialised in tinplate and clockwork, and managed to survive for over Seventy years.

This fine example, based upon the legendary London, Midland and Scottish Railways  "Royal Scot Class", is a surprisingly strong representation. Note the big Belpaire Firefox and single window cab.

She still runs with surprising confidence. Little gem in my silly collection of antiques and curio.

I recently got this old record / radio player in great condition. The radio stilll works and sounds pretty good for retro tech but the record player needs a little work. It is a very solid piece of furniture (read it was a beast to move) and the static from manually changing the radio stations adds to the nostalgia and charm.

Today's finds

What started as a single purchase of a bayonet from a local antique store in August 2022 turned into a delightful obsession ever since. It's been an expensive obsession however, but I love my collection.

Today, the collection has grown with a current total of 58 bayonets and two swords. 9 new acquisitions are not present in this photo.

Found this mid-20th Century Jingdezhen vase for what I presumed was a cheap price, but I've now learned was an absurdly good price, having found a pair selling for $500.

It's in perfect condition too, no cracks or chips anywhere.
