Anyone here think it's a good idea to have good liquidity to prepare for an economic downturn? 😕

It's 2024 and I'm trying to decide whether to invest and continue with dollar cost averaging (I also try to follow value investing principles) or just hold off and build more liquidity for when assets (properties/shares/etc.) get cheaper?
