Did you see The Devil Wears Prada 2? I went to see it yesterday and I liked it, I mean it wasn't a big deal and it felt a bit long but I liked it, it was entertaining, fun, and I liked that it touched on topics like how we now live in a digital world.

Used to be a big Markiplier fan; Grew up with him creating the Warfstache sketches, a Heist with Markiplier and in Space in Markiplier... so I am not surprised that he has directed his own movie.  Will happily go and support his project/work as he has had a big influence throughout the years.

Im going to see Iron Lung this weekend, but my opinion will be skewed because I enjoy his content. Is anybody neutral and can give their opinion on the movie? (Without spoilers please)

Ho appena finito “Detachment”.

Non è il classico film triste.
È uno di quei film che ti lasciano addosso un silenzio strano.
Parla di persone sole in mezzo ad altra gente.
Di studenti persi, adulti svuotati, persone che vorrebbero solo essere ascoltate davvero.
La cosa assurda è che, anche se è del 2011, sembra parlare perfettamente di oggi.
Alcune scene mi hanno colpito tanto perché sembravano reali, non scritte.
Come se il film non volesse insegnarti qualcosa, ma solo mostrarti quanto certe persone stiano male senza dirlo a nessuno.

Detachment

I just finished "Detachment."

It's not your typical sad movie.
It's one of those films that leaves you with a strange silence.
It talks about lonely people among other people.
About lost students, empty adults, people who just want to be truly heard.
The absurd thing is that, even though it's from 2011, it seems to perfectly speak to today.
Some scenes struck me so much because they felt real, not scripted.
As if the film didn't want to teach you something, but just show you how certain people are suffering without telling anyone.

Movie Pendants

My biggest concern before seeing  the movie was that is was a  2 hour film.  How on Earth will this movie adaption of a 45 minute game be kept interesting for 2 hours?  The only spoiler alert; it was interesting throughout!

The drip feeding of the background to the story was great; though dont play the drinking game "down a shot every time the f bomb is used".

The camera angles and portrayal of Simon (i.e. Markiplier) was very creative, keeping it mysterious, ambigious and a sense of helplessness throughout. The use of lighting was amazing too. I never once felt that it was repeating itself.

Even if you dont know who Markiplier is, or no care of video games; still go watch it.  The pacing is great and the sense of dread is kept up throughout.

The ending is enjoyable; yes I can understand how some people find it difficult to follow the movie or explain what happens, but there's enough in there to work it out.

Highly recommend!

Iron Lung: My Review (No Spoilers)

After the loss of a very intense relationship about 6 weeks ago I desperately needed a new obsession. I noticed that a local arthouse theatre was going to be screening the third season of Twin Peaks three episodes at a time for the next couple months!

The pure ecstasy of Dougie Jones enjoying his coffee and cherry pie is exactly what I needed to pull myself out of the sad and look again to the future. ❤️

Seeing this tonight. Still one of the greatest horror films ever…and in IMAX for the first time.  Should be interesting!

I remember the times when I started consciously photographing literally everything, looking for stories, a certain storytelling, cataloging photos in the way I imagined. 
Theoretically, this photo has nothing in it, yet it gives it a certain atmosphere. The atmosphere of a walking journey through places that, scattered by the noise of the day, seem to be just an echo at night. A certain reflection that only participates when we drive past these places, with Daft Punk and Kavinsky rocking in the background or simply our favorite nighttime ambient filled with synthesizers, a hint of the 80s, and electronics. Good night.

In your opinion, what made Godfather III inferior to I & II?

Godfather III

Rob Reiner: an artist who first made his mark as Michael “Meathead” Stivic after handful of notable TV appearances.  Reiner however, the scion of comedy legend Carl Reiner, went onto even bigger things as a respected film director, all while maintaining an acting career.

To look at his filmmaking career, beginning with the immortal “This is Spinal Tap”, taking turns in front of & behjnd the camera in such a groundbreaking mockumentary, Reiner directed some genuine classics that transcended the 80s by helming “The Sure Thing”, “Stand By Me” & the absolutely timeless “When Harry Met Sally”, a film that I think in essence, may be the defining romantic comedy of its year & a crown jewel under his cap.  But then there was a shift into more dramatic & thriller territory: returning to Stephen King as the director of “Misery”, directing a strong cast in the courtroom drama “A Few Good Men” & the political romantic comedy “The American President”.

But Reiner continued acting: costarring as the wise friends to Tom Hanks & Bruce Willis in other films, an exploitative TV network president in “EdTV”, the rightfully fed up father to Leonardo DiCaprio in “The Wolf of Wall Street” among a lot of other solid acting parts.

Few have been able to reach a career zenith as both a longtime performer but critically acclaimed director and Reiner was easily in that category/

Questo film, che è una visione edulclorata e necessariamente romanzata della vita di Michael prima della sua indipendenza come artista, creata appositamente per i già fan di colui che è stato probabilmente la più grande pop star della storia della musica, ha purtroppo omesso una delle questioni più controverse e delicate che secondo me andava trattata.
Perché secondo me era doveroao parlare delle accuse di plagio mosse da Al Bano nei confronti di M. Jackson.

This film, which is a sanitized and necessarily romanticized view of Michael's life before his independence as an artist, created specifically for the already fans of the one who was probably the greatest pop star in the history of music, unfortunately omitted one of the most controversial and delicate issues that I believe should have been addressed.
Because in my opinion, it was necessary to talk about the plagiarism accusations made by Al Bano against M. Jackson.
