Is Darkwave considered gothic music?

So I mostly listen to Darkwave and Coldwave and I do really enjoy them especially when im writing poetry. Are they recognised as a subgenre of gothic music? If they are and you listen to these can you recommend me some? I listen mostly to Dollwave, but of course I enjoy more branches of this music... read more
