I wrote one post touching on this subject and I have not gotten much of a response its regarding modern muzzel loading for decades muzzeloading manufacturers have tried to get long distance capabilities and accuracy from modern muzzeloading platforms while obeying the standards that state and federal hunting laws require their attempts have been to simply make weapons able to hold a higher powder charge but the results habe not been what I believe they expected the problem isnt in the amount of powder being used very few modern high powered rifle cartridges hold the old standard 50 caliber load of 100 grains of powder only the large caliber big bore weapons have powder loads that compare to the 150 and 200 grain loads that the premium muzzeloader platforms are now able to hold so why are muzzeloaders not performing at long distances as well as modern rifles its the projectiles not the load its not the weight of the projectiles currently available its their length muzzeloading bullets whether you use a standard matched caliber bullet or a sabo round the bullets them selves are short and stubby more pistol round than rifle round if you have ever seen the rifle bullets before they are loaded into the cartridge casing they are longer they are even classified as a boattail bullet now several years ago they made a 30 caliber round that was 22 caliber sabo if they can sabo a 30 caliber down to 22 I believe that we can sabo a 45 caliber or maybe even a 50 down to a 338 lapua bullet basically a 30 caliber boat tail bullet I believe this will advance muzzeloading further than all the other advancments in the last 40 years plus people wont have to go out and buy new weapons just change the projectiles they use I myself have a cva accura long distance it has a 30 inch barrel and I can use a 150 grain powder load this set up with a 180 or 200 or even 250 grain 30 caliber boat tail sabo round would make my muzzeloader as accurate a long distance weapon as any of my rifles if any one out there has any influence on some one who could accomplish this please I emplore you to use my idea you dont owe me anything but you would be the only name in muzzeloading projectiles over night I promise you that

Ive hunted with modern muzzleloaders for 30 years and they have changed alot we used to use 100 grains or less of powder now its up to 200 grains I think the one I use now i only use 150 grains of powder behind a 195 grain 40 caliber sabot in my CVA 45 caliber weapon it has a 30 b inch barrel wich means I can shoot as far as the weapons using the higher powder amounts but what is holding modern muzzleoaders back from being true single shot rifles is not the powder charge its the bullets we are forced to use have any of you ever handloaded high powered rifle bullets they are alot lighter and smaller diameter than the 45 and 50 caliber bullets we use but they are also longer that is what is holding muzzleoaders back if some one designed a myzzeloaximg bullet that was longer and smaller in diameter im thinking like a 338 Lapua bullet seated in a sabot casing then you would not have to come up woth all new bullets just the the plastic sabot casings make them fit around a Barnes or swift 338 caliber boat tail and I promise you the long range accuracy will happen woth much less powder charge I figured this out when I bought 6.7 mm AR it was sold to me that it has all the muscle of the 7.62 nato or 308 with less weight carrying ammo but I did tests and studied ballistics it has a shorter bullet than the 5.56 or the 6mm or 7.62 nato its great weapon for 100 yards or less but it has no long range accuracy the modern muzzeloader bullets have the same handi cap so if some one who knows ammo and loads their own and might be able to work on this theory with me we could revolutionize modern mizzeloading together
