Do you ever find it challenging to anunciate the words in the language you are trying to learn? I have been trying to learn some Portuguese and feel completely lost on how to anunciate a majority of these words.

I'm Xhosa, so isiXhosa is my home language. I also speak English, Afrikaans, isiZulu, Sesotho, Sepedi, and Setswana.

I'd love to learn French and Spanish next. I believe the best way to learn a language is by regularly interacting with people who speak it. Immersion makes a huge difference compared to just studying it without using it in everyday conversations.

If you speak a language other than English,  what's the most challenging thing to learn about your language? I remember that learning the imperfect subjunctive was a tougher part of spanish.

Today, I reached a 900-day learning streak in my Brazilian Portuguese journey. I don't claim to be proficient, I usually only spend about 5 mins a day learning, but becoming proficient was never my aim. I started learning Portuguese for the same reason I read the Harry Potter novels (the only fiction books I've read without having to for school): to impress a really lovely Brazilian person I met on here that felt unattractive. To show them that even if they struggled to see their beauty, I saw it, and I thought it was worth working hard to impress them.

To have international friends. I don't know many languages but I'm willing to learn if they're willing to teach so that we can better communicate woth each other. I'd do my best to teach too of course. We can struggle to learn each other's languages together haha.
