So the question is, why you should lowering the standards? Like, why "WHY"??

Because a potential partner will make sure he's standing on  the same level as you. An insecure man will ask you to lower your standards, down to his bar.

When they said "You should lower your standards, or you'll be single forever"

But you remember that your best friends  treat you better than any man; your parents raised you well; your coworkers can maintain that healthy meaningful conversations
