Just learned that I was accepted on a voyage next summer from Svalbard, Norway to the Arctic Circle on the ship in the picture! I live in the Midwestern US and have never done anything like this. Any Arctic travelers, Arctic dreamers, or Norwegians have advice?

Ok so it's winter solstice, the north pole is farthest from the sun. Yet as I write this, the temperature in much of Svalbard (very near the north pole) is warmer than Madrid, Valencia or Barcelona.
