Jonas also went on to write several books, including "The War of the Doomed" and "The Black Years," which are considered to be significant works documenting the history of the Holocaust. In the 1960s, Jonas moved to Israel, where he continued his work as a journalist and writer, and became an important figure in the Jewish community. Throughout his life, Jonas remained committed to preserving the history of the Holocaust and the Jewish people, and was recognized for his contributions through numerous awards, including the Triangle ALARA Award for his contributions to humanity through his writing. Jonas Turkow passed away in 2016 at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
