Craig Hodges

Craig Hodges Tiểu sử

Craig Hodges is an esteemed former professional basketball player hailing from the United States. Known for his exceptional shooting skills, Hodges gained recognition for his time in the National Basketball Association (NBA) during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Born on June 27, 1960, in Park Forest, Illinois, Hodges displayed immense talent in the sport from an early age. He attended Rich East High School in Park Forest before moving on to California State University, Long Beach, where he continued to hone his skills on the basketball court.

After a successful college career, Craig Hodges earned a spot in the 1982 NBA Draft, where he was selected by the San Diego (now Los Angeles) Clippers in the third round. Although he began his professional journey with the Clippers, it was during his time with the Chicago Bulls that he made a name for himself. Hodges spent seven seasons with the Bulls from 1988 to 1992, during which he played alongside legendary basketball icon Michael Jordan.

Hodges became known for his extraordinary three-point shooting abilities, winning the prestigious NBA Three-Point Contest three consecutive times from 1990 to 1992. He was also an instrumental part of the Bulls' championship-winning teams in 1991 and 1992. His shooting precision and basketball intellect allowed him to contribute significantly to the team's success during those years. Despite his vital role in the Bulls' achievements, an unfortunate incident during their visit to the White House in 1992 marked a turning point in Hodges' career.

During the team's visit, Hodges presented President George H.W. Bush with a letter, expressing his concerns about various social and economic issues affecting African Americans. This act of protest and activism, advocating for equality and justice, had a profound impact on Hodges' future prospects in the NBA. Despite being a valuable player, he faced difficulty finding another team to continue his professional career after the Bulls released him the following season. However, Hodges' legacy extends far beyond basketball, as he has dedicated his life to advocating for social justice and equality, making him an influential figure both on and off the court.
