We're all adults here

Sometimes it weirds me out to think that people my age are the adults. That most adults grew up watching Spongebob and Pokémon. They played video games and rode their bikes with their friends around their neighborhoods. They texted their crushes and made AMVs and mp3 playlists. When I try to act like an adult, sometimes I need to remind myself that I am an adult and what I'm actually trying to do is act like my parents/the adults I knew when I was a kid. It's a bit of a mental hurdle, but once you stop looking at 30 year old people as "the adults" and start looking at them like "the people I grew up with" it becomes less intimidating to talk to them.

I'm 35. I look at it as, "Hey, I enjoyed this when I was young, and I still enjoy it and it makes me happy, so why stop because I'm "grown?"" Simple interests like that aren't hurting anyone, and if you enjoy them, that's all that matters. Random people's opinion on those interests shouldn't matter. 😊😊😊 (redigeret)

If it makes you feel any better, people with ADHD supposedly age slower and are still kids until they're in their 30s. I'm 25, the age my brain is supposedly fully developed, and I still act like I did when I was 14-15.
