Ohrmazd is the counterpart of his twin brother Ahriman, who is the deity of evil and chaos. In the story, Ohrmazd and Ahriman represent the eternal battle between good and evil, and their worshipers believe that the outcome of this conflict will determine the fate of the world.

Ohrmazd is depicted as a god of light, wisdom, and justice. His followers believe that he created the world and all living beings, and that he watches over them from the sky. They also believe that he gave the first king of Pars, Andragoras III, a divine mandate to rule the country. According to the legend, Andragoras received a holy arrow from Ohrmazd, and this arrow symbolizes the power and authority of the Parsian monarchy.

Throughout the story, Ohrmazd is often mentioned in prayers and invocations, especially when the Parsian soldiers go to war. They believe that he will protect them from harm and help them to achieve victory. However, Ohrmazd is not a character who directly intervenes in the plot. He is more like a symbol of hope and consolation for the people of Pars, who are fighting against their enemies and facing many hardships.
