Robert Beatty is a Canadian actor who has contributed immensely to the entertainment industry since the 1940s. He was born on October 19, 1909, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Although he was born into a family of dairy farmers, Beatty developed an interest in acting at a young age. He began his career in the entertainment industry as a theatre actor before moving into film acting.

Beatty's acting career began in the 1940s, performing in British films such as "A Canterbury Tale" (1944) and "Wanted for Murder" (1946). He also had a successful television career, appearing in popular television series such as "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1955) and "The Saint" (1962). Beatty is best known for his role in the classic war film, "Where Eagles Dare" (1968), in which he starred alongside Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood.

In addition to his acting career, Beatty was an accomplished author, having written several children's books, including the popular "Serafina" series.
