Richard LeParmentier was an actor born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but who spent most of his career in the United Kingdom. He started acting in the late 1960s and appeared in various British television shows and films, including "The Sweeney," "Whoops Apocalypse," and "Octopussy." However, he is perhaps best known for his role as Admiral Motti in the 1977 film "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope." In the iconic scene, LeParmentier's character mocks Darth Vader's lack of faith in the Force, only to be choked by Vader's telekinetic powers. The scene became famous for Vader's memorable line, "I find your lack of faith disturbing."
