J. J. Stokes, born January 10, 1972, in San Diego, California, is a former American football wide receiver. He gained fame during his college years playing for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he solidified himself as one of the top wide receivers in the country. Stokes went on to have a successful career in the National Football League (NFL), primarily with the San Francisco 49ers.

Stokes' athletic abilities were evident from a young age. He attended Point Loma High School in San Diego, where he excelled in both football and track and field. His outstanding performances on the field earned him a scholarship to play for the UCLA Bruins in college.

During his time at UCLA, Stokes proved to be an exceptional player, consistently demonstrating his skills as a wide receiver. He finished his college career with impressive statistics, recording 154 receptions for 2,469 yards and 28 touchdowns. Stokes' stellar performance earned him multiple awards and accolades, including being named a Consensus All-American in 1993.
