My life plan: Have a good career. If I didn't have a stable partner by 30, look for one then. Have 2 children in my 30s. Be a stay at home mum. Leave any relationship where I was mistreated or treated like a doormat. Work part-time until kids are 14 so I could be there when they got home from school. Have dream home. Invest. Retire. My life: Was well on track until I realised I was being abused. When I left my ex, he took the kids. I also lost my dream home, retirement nest egg and career. I now have complex mental and physical health challenges. Forget goals. Identify your values. Live according to your values. And know that anything you have can go in an instant.
