my first attempt
In the quiet spaces between the lines, I find my right to breathe, to take my time. Not every message warrants an immediate reply, Nor every call demands my instant sigh. I declare the right to ponder and to muse, To let thoughts wander where they choose. In a world of haste, I choose to pause, To savor tea, to revel in a movie's cause. No frantic scrolls through endless apps, Just the gentle turn of pages, perhaps. To finish a tale or delve into a verse, To immerse in thoughts, to traverse. I refuse the mandate of aggression, To engage with hostility is not my session. I distance myself from toxicity's glare, For they, not I, should seek repair. And finally, I declare to you my plea, "Enough, this is not okay," let it be. No guilt shall weigh upon my soul, For acknowledging when things take their toll.
