Any advice for visitors to the US?
I'm heading to the US for a year to au pair and I'm super nervous, any advice for me? Also I'm open to connections so that when I get there I know people so don't be afraid to reach outð

Never heard of au. As a resident of the usa I'll point out a few things. First each state has different rules and laws. And how leanest they are on them depends on the state. Dont do stupid stuff that'll land you in jail. Our jail system is horrible and you stay in there longer then normal. Second dont trespass. Some people get threatened of they see you do that and alot Americans have guns

Itâs like prison rules. Just get off the plane and immediately beat someone up as a show of dominance. No? Ok, well itâs probably going to be different depending on where in the country youâll be. What passes in New York might incite a riot somewhere else. People underestimate how incredibly varied things are region to region. Avoid politics because most people only think they know what theyâre talking about. Always listen to the locals about where the good food is. If you hear an air raid siren take cover. Itâs either a tornado, wild fire, earthquake, or avalanche depending on where you are.
