Do I give up?

For many years but especially the last few months I have been socially isolated. So I reach out to the friends I have built up online over time who are within an hour's drive to try and engage and meet up. It has been many years since I had last seen them. Each time it is cancelled and they never go out of their way to reschedule. New people have also done the above. I am trying to see people and engage as for me it is also part of my mental health and I need interaction with people. But each time I am disappointed is a blow to my mental health. I never have anyone contact me to meet up.... Apart from one person who cancelled anyway. Do I give up trying and keep to myself? I live alone so loneliness is acute. Do I keep trying and hope that one day someone will value me enough to meet?
